Position Purpose

This is a graduate-entry role designed to develop the next generation of Africa freight pricing specialists. Reporting to the Manager – Africa, the Africa Quotes Coordinator will build deep expertise in Africa trade lane logistics and freight forwarding, developing into a regional market authority on pricing, cost structures, and supplier networks across the continent.

You will partner with Operations, Sales, and other functional areas to provide quoting support for Africa trade lane logistics and freight forwarding enquiries received by Move One for both regional and global customers. You will be responsible for producing quotes and supporting Requests for Proposals, working with all teams within the organisation to achieve this.

Duties / Responsibiities:

Pricing Support & Africa Market Expertise

A core focus of this role is building and maintaining current, accurate knowledge of the Africa freight market. 

Liaise with Move One offices and partner agents to establish and maintain up-to-date standard tariffs on file for local transportation, sea/airport handling, clearance, and warehousing services at all major/established points of origin/trans-load in the Africa region — re-validated quarterly at minimum

Ensure AOR (Africa) tariffs are correctly set up in Intrack / V4 and kept current at all times

Develop and maintain a database of shipping lines (containerised, break bulk & RoRo), carriers (cargo & PAX airlines) with POC details for each African trade lane, enabling regular freight market intelligence

Build a comprehensive list of asset-owning transport companies providing FTL services throughout Africa, including equipment specifications (Tilt & box trucks, 40ft Flat bed, Low beds) with max. payload and loading options

Work with the Cargo Team Leader and local offices to establish and maintain up-to-date road freight rates for primary trade lanes

Proactively monitor freight market trends across the Africa region, including seasonal rate fluctuations, capacity changes, carrier performance, and geopolitical factors affecting logistics corridors

Maintain regular communication with Move One Operations, local offices, agents, and transportation providers to ensure current knowledge of SOPs, import/export regulations, and transportation availability and schedules

Work in close coordination with Operations to ensure quoted and actual costs correspond; notify the Country Manager where discrepancies are identified

Monitor vendor/partner agent quote terms and conditions with a view to recommending improvements/amendments

Support Tender Management

     Assist in the preparation of Commercial Proposals for large tenders by securing competitive rates and favourable terms

     Assist in drafting Technical Proposals for large tenders, writing clear method statements / Concepts of Operations as required

Quote Tracker & System Updates

Ensure opportunity/quote visibility by recording details of each enquiry in the online Quote Tracker, including at minimum: basic customer/POC information, key RFQ details, request and submission dates, and quoter reference numbers

Ensure regular, timely follow-ups for all pending quotes and status updates for all system-generated quotations; ensure rate feedback is provided to vendors from whom rates have been procured

Prepare a sanitised weekly summary report of all issued quotations for management review
