Supply Chain Coordinator - Africa

Job Description

 

Vendor coordinaton

 

 

Identify minimum 2 vendors and brokers in each country for all subcontracted service requirements 

 

 

Implementation and management of household goods moving standard operating procedures in line with Move One company standards

 

 

Ensure that vendor and/or local office have all capabilities/resources to perform the required services

 

 

Ensure vendors understand metrics and responsibilities including packing metrics and billing and operational documentation requirements

 

 

Responsible for due dilligance on vendor and coordination all financial and operational reviews to be submitted to management

 

 

Responsible to vet crews for quality and ensure preferred crews work on Move One jobs 

 

 

Responsible for translating vendor agreements, training forms from English to French as well as adapt to local and regional needs

 

 

Collaborate with operations and coordination team to set standard operational metrics as well as job specific metrics

 

 

Lead the collection of operational metrics and participate in understanding and lead regular reviews with partners and vendors

 

 

Receive feedback from Move Coodinators on vendor / local office performance. Identify and implement corrective action where needed

 

 

Escalations -  when we experience quality issues, cost overruns you will be the interface with vendors / partners to understand and rectify issues 

 

 

Keep track of all packing supplies stock for all Move One offices in Africa (carton, tape, bubble-wrap, shrink-wrap, wood)

 

 

Responsible for sourcing local packing supplies vendor, restocking and ensuring lead times sufficient 

 

 

Ensure that all stored customer goods / Move One goods are tightly controlled in terms of costings, security and Health and Safety

 

 

 

 

 

Pricing coordinaton

 

 

Central point of contact for local, private and coporate requests. (X-D2D & I-D2D)

 

 

Pricing for sea freight and airfreight import/export for both Logistics and Moving services 

 

 

Responds to customer, acknlowledges request and confirms they will be contacted for survey 

 

 

Assigns surveys to either local offices or approved agents

 

 

Promote & perform all video-estimate surveys for Agent, Private and Coporate when required 

 

 

Review survey results, confirms survey is complete and accurate 

 

 

Input survey results into Intrack and submit to quoting team with deadlines 

 

 

Provide pricing to quoting department for non-standard rate requests

 

 

 

 

 

Shipping Process and Customs Regulations 

 

 

Identify primary ports of entry & exit (air/sea) 

 

 

Prepare process and methodology for shipping commercial, diplomatic and military shipments for import/export. This should include optimal routing, documentation requirements and transit time. (Moving & Logistics) 

 

 

 

 

 

Market Research 

 

 

Evaluate opportunities through client interaction, online calls and face to face meetings

 

 

Understand individual clients setup & project service requirements

 

 

Determine how individual clients procure moving services

 

 

Collect and analyze competitor sell rates

 

 

 

Skills

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: 

 

5+ years experience of managing vendors and household goods moving operations 

 

 

Strong English and French skills (written and verbal) are essential

 

 

Computer literate

 

 

Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
